So today marks my first blog on the first Monday of a new year… *handclap*
The last time we spoke I was telling you lovely people how I thought resolutions were stupid and useless, and how you should make vision boards at the start of a new year (or whenever), instead of making resolutions. I hope your vision boards are filled with all the things you hope to accomplish this year of 2013!
What’s New
Every year at this very same time, the gyms see an influx of people signing up left and right to get their bodies fit and trim. Stores like Target and Walmart make sure to advertise all of their workout gear and equipment at sale prices. Besides the obvious, I’m not sure what the correlation is between the start of a new year and fitness. Whatever it is you should know that I too have joined the gravy fruit and veggie train.
A week before Christmas I decided I was fed up, annoyed, and plain ol disgusted with the size of stomach. I honestly could not take it anymore. I began to research how to lose belly fat and stumbled upon sites referring to the Master Cleanse. I read articles from several different sites all in an effort to familiarize myself with a working knowledge of what the Master Cleanse was before deciding to take the plunge. And take the plunge I did!
My main goal was to detox my body of all the toxins and impurities from all of the bad eating I’d done. I was a bad eater ya’ll! Not only was I a bad eater, I was a frequent eater too. I was a frequent eater of many bad things. So it was no mystery as to why my belly area looked the way it looked. It would have been easy to attribute the size of my belly to the 4 children I’ve given birth to, but no, nope, that wasn’t the case. I simply was a face-stuffer. Oreo’s (Double Stuff to be exact), potato chips, candy, ice cream, and loads of carbs were the culprit of my then 1st Trimester belly.
I watched YouTube videos of people who’d done the cleanse and in every one of them the person’s stomach went down significantly. I was immediately in! Not only was I going to rid my body of gunk, but my stomach was going to deflate. I did the cleanse for 3 days and the results were just as I had hoped. Click here to see my preggo-looking belly. After getting the results I wanted I resolved to eat cleaner and basically adopt an entire new lifestyle.
Since then I’ve joined a 30 Day Green Smoothie Challenge, I’ve been eating cleaner, and I even created a Get-Fit-spiration board on Pinterest for myself and others who’ve decided it was time to take better care of their bodies this year. Needless to say I’m serious about this thing called health. The better you treat your body the better it will treat you….it’s just like a vehicle. And what better time to tune up these bodies of ours than at the start of a new year!
What Else is New
Scandal. Scandal is NEW this Thursday. No other words need to be spoken beyond this point.
New URL
Another new thing is the name change of the site’s url. It is no longer eclecticmanure.com. It is simply eclecticallyme.com. You know how when you created your first email addresss and you thought you were being creative by calling it prettybrowneyes@aol.com? Yea well that’s kinda what prompted the name change.
That’s about all I have for you guys today… Oh before I forget, if any of you are on Pinterest and need exercise tips, healthy recipes, or just some motivation to get started or to keep going, please follow my Get-Fit-spiration board! It’s there for you!
Also, anybody else looking forward to tonight’s premiere of Deception starring Megan Good? I’m hoping it turns out to be a good show. I’m without a Monday night show to become addicted to, so I’m anxious to see what this one brings and if I’ll be hooked.
Alrighty peeps, thanks for reading, God Bless, and Goodnight.
Have you decided to adopt a healthier lifestyle this year? If so, share it with me I’d love to hear about it.
